Jim Crow Car- both races had to ride in separate vehicles since they were not the same.
I think it’s totally wrong for the government to try to scare people off by making harsh laws and punishments even though this supposed to be a country of equal opportunity. The laws were mean’t to benefit the whites during Plessy vs Ferguson.
Tourgee was the leading white spokesman for people of color
Plessy was born free in 1862, he was only 1/18th African blood and his family spoke french
Tourgee had Plessy violate a law so he could build a case against the law. So Plessy sat in the car that was for whites.
