CL 2/18

Prompt 1: There are two groups in this reading: whites and blacks. Swales mentioned that the group has public goals and those that are very knowledgeable. The judges are the legal discourse communities in this case. They are the ones that are knowledgeable because they are the ones that help decide whether something is right or wrong. It this case they are the ones that look through or know the history of their country and determine whether whites and blacks are equal.

prompt 2: They looked through the Amendments, specifically the 13th and 14th amendment.

Prompt 3: They looked at other cases that involved the rights of blacks and whites. Limited laws based on the amendments, the amendment says this so we are going to follow it. If it says nothing about equal protection for both races then whites will get protection of rights but not blacks.
